Replacing Your volkswagen key Programming Key
You'll have to replace your volkswagen key cutting key if you lose it. The process of getting a replacement from the dealer will cost you money and you will have to wait for it to arrive.
It may be tempting to purchase second-hand VW key online or in shops that sell them. These keys won't be able to disable the standard immobiliser on your car.
Battery Replacement
Modern electronic key fobs provide more convenience and performance in comparison to manual volkswagon keys, however they'll never get a charge out or stop working over time. If the VW key fob isn't responding to button presses or if the lock/unlock buttons are taking longer than usual to respond, the battery may require replacement.
You'll require a small screwdriver (preferably one with a flat-head that is wrapped in tape to keep from scratching the fob) and a new 3V CR2032 battery for this job.
